Our Patagonia Trekking guides that lead the Torres del Paine treks are Patagonian locals who have years of experience leading groups in Torres del Paine National Park and know the park like the back of their hand. Many of them have traveled throughout the world and come back to Patagonia, unable to stay away from the landscapes they grew up with and so dearly love. They live in Puerto Natales and come up to Eco Camp with tour trekkers to start each trek, enjoying nights spent both at Eco Camp and in the middle of the park's wilderness.  Our private tours for families, friends or corporate groups are guided by Cara MacDonald

Cara Macdonald - New Zealand

Cara guides 2 of PNG Trekking Adventures abroad expeditions, Torres del Paine in Patagonia and Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. 

Cara is 34 years old and has travelled extensively, taking on many challenging treks of the world. Including all our expeditions in Papua New Guinea. 

She has high altitude experience taking groups across the Arrow Glacier climb via the crater to summit Mt Kilimanjaro. Her African team is extremely experienced and have fine-tuned this challenging route taking 7 days to summit ensuring that all client are given the best possible chance to summit. 

Cara has spent a lot of her time living in South America and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. Our full 10 day Torres del Paine Circuit trek in Patagonia is one of her favourites. This trek is as challenging as the Kokoda Track. Her knowledge of the flora and fauna and this part of the world is extensive.
